it is to listen to your partner whenever anything ails them
& never blaming them for how they feel

it is to hold them through whatever may transpire
especially dire circumstances

it is to choose & be chosen at all times
certainly when it may feel the most difficult

if not acceptance & appreciation for every part of their being
the good, the seemingly bad, & the shadow

if not wiping their tears when they come to you crying
& embracing them until what troubles them passes

if not patience through thick & thin
through the ups & downs that life may bring
love is to give yourself fully & wholeheartedly to someone
to be vulnerable in all ways, & never shy away
it is to see someone for who they truly are
& stay committed to their soul
for they are beautiful in & out
it is to deny yourself & leave your ego at the door
for it cannot exist in a healthy relationship
when others may have rejected parts of them they were overwhelmed by
you love them & all of their parts
& you fit together fabulously, like a puzzle
you work together day in & day out
& the sun seems to shine even brighter when they are around
for they are the sun to your moon
the starts to your night sky
they are everything to you
& life only started to make sense when they came around
